Executive Committee Meeting of SEWP Pakistan Held at Orion ABA Center for Special Needs Children, Model Town Extension, Lahore
A significant meeting of the Executive Committee of the Special Education Welfare Association of Professionals (SEWP) Pakistan was held on June 27 at the Orion ABA Center for Special Needs Children , Model Town Extension, Lahore.
The meeting was presided over by Sardar Humayun Ali Khan, Chief Patron of SEWP Pakistan.
Distinguished participants included Shehzad Bhutta (Former Director of Special Education Punjab), Dr. Fareeha Laique Chishty (CEO of Orion Center), Dr. Ayesha Butt, Syed Qamar Abbas Shah , Abid Hashmi , Anas Farooqi ,(Chief Editor Click Magazine), Jamshed Iqbal Sheikh , and Kashif Iqbal Sheikh, Also in attendance were International Cricketer Jamshed Ali Jimmy , Dr. Professor Sabahat Saba , Sajjad Mukhtar and SEWP Therapist Bilal Razzaq,
The meeting began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a Naat by Abid Hashmi .
Shehzad Bhutta , President of SEWP Pakistan, outlined the objectives of the association’s monthly meetings. He emphasized that SEWP Pakistan has long been committed to the education, rehabilitation, welfare, and support of children with special needs and to the broader service of humanity.
He paid tribute to the late Shakeel Farooqi , Chief Editor of Click Pakistan and one of SEWP’s most senior founding members, for his remarkable contributions to the cause of special children across Pakistan. Farooqi was known not only as a journalist but also for his dedication to integrating children with special needs into society and raising awareness about disability—especially among young girls and women—through seminars titled “Today’s Daughter, Tomorrow’s Mother” held at various colleges.
Dr. Fareeha Laique Chishty, host of the meeting, welcomed the esteemed SEWP members and provided a briefing on the goals and achievements of the Orion ABA Center for Special Needs Children.
She shared that the center was established in October 2022 , and has since been providing modern, high-quality education and therapy to special needs children with the support of highly qualified and experienced professionals. The center is registered with the Punjab Labour Department and affiliated with Forness Pakistan , a renowned social organization.
**Sardar Humayun Ali Khan** appreciated Dr. Fareeha’s valuable services for children with special needs and assured her of SEWP Pakistan’s full support in addressing the center’s challenges and ensuring its future development.
All participants, including **Dr. Ayesha Butt**, **Abid Hashmi**, **Dr. Sabahat**, **Kashif Sheikh**, **Anas Farooqi**, **Jamshed Ali**, **Syed Qamar Abbas Shah**, **Sajjad Mukhtar**, **Jamshed Iqbal**, and **Therapist Bilal Razzaq**, lauded Dr. Fareeha Laique Chishty’s dedication and services for special children. They pledged their full cooperation and support for the continued growth of the Orion ABA Center.
Dr. Fareeha expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all members of SEWP Pakistan’s Executive Committee and concluded the meeting by serving refreshments.
