A quiet milestone I’m grateful for 😊
I’m pleased to share that our research paper, “Influencing public acceptance of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare delivery,” has been published in Frontiers
This study examined factors shaping public trust and willingness to use artificial intelligence in healthcare.
One notable finding highlights the current trust gap: while most respondents expressed strong trust in physicians for serious health decisions, far fewer reported trust in large language models such as ChatGPT for health-related guidance.
Key insights:
• Prior use of telehealth was strongly associated with greater openness to AI-enabled healthcare
• Younger age and higher educational attainment were linked to higher acceptance
• Trust in the healthcare system itself remains a central determinant of AI adoption
These findings suggest that familiarity, context, and institutional trust may matter more than technical capability alone when introducing AI into healthcare settings.
This publication is especially meaningful to me as it is my first co-authored research paper, and I’m grateful for the mentorship, guidance, and collaborative learning throughout the process.
Grateful to Ozlem Equils, MD, FAAP and the team for the opportunity to contribute to this work.
