📍 1. Based on Route of Administration
🔹️Oral Tablets: The most common route. Includes Immediate Release (IR) for quick onset and various Modified Release (SR, ER, CR) options.

🔹️Buccal & Sublingual: Designed to bypass first-pass metabolism by absorbing directly through the oral mucosa. Sublingual (under the tongue) is critical for emergency medications like Nitroglycerin.

🔹️Vaginal Tablets: Formulated for local action or systemic absorption when oral administration is not viable.

🛡️ 2. Based on Coating

🔹️Sugar Coated: Primarily used to mask unpleasant tastes or odors.
