Before indulging yourself into a diet regime always reconsider the precautions. One small mistake can take heavy tolls down the line.
Keto Diet - Nutritional starvation
When you eat something high in carbs, your body will produce glucose and insulin.
Since the glucose is being used as a primary energy, your fats are not needed and are therefore stored.
Ketosis is a natural process the body initiates to help us survive when food intake is low. During this state, we produce ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fats in the liver.
Our bodies are incredibly adaptive to what you put into it – when you overload it with fats and take away carbohydrates, it will begin to burn ketones as the primary energy source.
All of a sudden your body has to deal with the lack of glucose and increase in fats, which means building up a new supply of enzymes. As your body becomes induced into a ketogenic state, your body will naturally use what’s left of your glucose.
This means your body will be depleted of glycogen in the muscles – which can cause a lack of energy and general lethargy, increase in LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, nutrient deficiencies by not or less consuming macronutritient ( carbohydrates). Its a water flushing out diet.

For starters, most of the lost weight is water weight, according to Lisa Cimperman, R.D.N., a clinical dietitian at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
“Once your body enters ketosis, you also begin to lose muscle, become extremely fatigued, and eventually enter starvation mode. Then it actually becomes even harder to lose weight,” Cimperman told Healthline.
The day you leave keto diet your body weight starts coming back and your ideal weight wont last. You can follow this diet for short term but its hard to follow for long term.
Ketogenic diet can be followed for brief period for specific disease management and therapies but when to follow a healthcare will decide.
You can consume less carbohydrates in your diet but not restrict it. For example having one chappatti instead of two or consuming half instead of one.
The best way to loose weight without interrupting your body system is to just follow balanced diet, control portion sizes and physical activity.
Excess of anything is bad. Choose diet with moderation.
