Daily Morning Meeting - Updates & Institutional Affairs
The worthy Dean, IPH, Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal has started daily morning meetings with the head of departments and faculty to have insight on the daily tasks assigned and discuss institutional affairs for better service delivery and governance. The dean directed the concerned HODs to furnish daily update on the progress pertaining to institution as well as maintaining the service delivery standards and get maximum output for the general population and community services.

Weekly Alert Generation and Data Situational Analysis/DEAG, SIMS
Dengue although endemic in region but poses serious threat to the general public if remained unchecked. Under the supervision of worthy Dean, IPH, Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal for look in to the gaps in dengue surveillance and data entries on weekly basis and give recommendations to the higher ups for managing and controlling the disease through monitored surveillance and data entry activities.
The representative from CDC, EP&C, DGHS, Dr. Syeda Sidra Zain, Mr. Salman Shabbir (Senior Program Manager, PITB), Mr. Muneeb (Program officer, PITB), attended the meeting along with Mr. Faisal Mushtaq (HOD Biostatistics), Mr. Asif Mehmood (Entomologist, IPH), to review the dengue alert generation and data situational analysis. The team has desired to continue the meetings on weekly basis for timely response to the identified gaps.

The Institute of Public Health, Lahore, proudly organized an intellectually stimulating scientific session featuring renowned national leaders, academicians, and global health experts. The event highlighted critical themes shaping the future of Sustainable Development, Global Health Security, and Integrated Disease Surveillance & Response (IDSR).

The session ended with shield and souvenir distribution among the distinguished guests, Chair & Co Chairs of Scientific sessions, Faculty and organizing students, prize winners among scientific posters, models and oral presenters participated from various institutes.

Spiritual Session Weekly Series – Dr. Arshad (Ex-PMO, IPH).
To enhance the spiritual life ahead, worthy dean, Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal has continued a new innovation to the healthy and spiritual activities at IPH. She has added continuity of spiritual sessions on weekly basis through well-renowned spiritual healer and Islamic scholar, Dr. Arshad (Ex-PMO, IPH). On 01-12-2025 marked the 37th Dars of this series attended by the worthy dean, faculty, internees, other staff members as well as students. This series would also help the institutional employees to foster healthy life through good deeds for the mankind by spreading the knowledge of Islam and its taleemat. The session concluded with dua for the solidarity of Muslims and for the departed souls as well as spiritual healing along with decrease in the sufferings of humanity especially Muslims across the globe.

As part of the IPHCON25 post-conference activities, the Institute of Public Health, Lahore hosted a vibrant and memorable Lahore Cultural Visit, bringing together distinguished guests, faculty, alumni, and students for an enriching exploration of the city’s historical treasures.

✨ The group visited some of Lahore’s most iconic landmarks:
🏰 Iqbal Fort & Shahi Qila — where centuries-old architecture and Mughal grandeur offered a glimpse into the rich heritage of the region.
🕌 Badshahi Mosque — a breathtaking symbol of spiritual magnificence and cultural pride.
🍽️ The day concluded with a delightful Lunch Fiesta at Haveli Restaurant, overlooking the majestic fort and old city skyline — a perfect blend of tradition, hospitality, and culinary excellence.

IPHCON25 - Post-conference Delegates Visit
Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal, Dean Institute of Public Health, welcomed esteemed guests including Lt. Gen. (Rtrd.) Abdul Qayyum, Prof. Dr. Farkhanda, Prof. Dr. Mulazim Hussain Bukhari, Prof. Dr. Nasir Zaidi, Dr. Zubair Hafeez, Dr. Tahir and Mr. Kashif Bandesha came for visiting IPH and praising the new era of IPH under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal. The delegate attended the post-conference workshops on helping baby breathe and Water Aid Pakistan, Wash strategies. IPHCON25 - Post-conference Workshop (WASH in Pakistan - Water Aid Pakistan)
Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal, Dean Institute of Public Health, led the Post-Conference Workshop titled “WASH in Pakistan in collaboration with Water Aid Pakistan”.
The session featured project insights from the representative from WaterAid Pakistan, Dr. Junaid while the esteemed guests were Lt. Gen. (Rtrd.) Abdul Qayyum, Prof. Dr. Farkhanda, Prof. Dr. Mulazim Hussain Bukhari, Prof. Dr. Nasir Zaidi, Dr. Zubair Hafeez, Dr. Tahir and Mr. Kashif Bandesha highlighting the need of practicing WASH effectively to prevent from the diseases. The workshop was attended by the students of various institutes, faculty and others so that it will help to foster WASH culture.
Held at the Meeting Room, IPH Lahore, the workshop set a strong continuation to promote resilience, wellbeing and global health preparedness through prevention.

IPHCON25 - 🌟 Post-Conference Workshop on Helping Babies Breathe
Under the visionary leadership of the dean, IPH, Prof. Dr. Saira Afzal a post conference workshop on helping babies breathe held at Preventive Pediatrics department of the Institute of Public Health, Lahore in collaboration with MWAP, this impactful workshop took place on 30th November 2025 in and brought together students, faculty, and paramedics for an enriching hands-on learning experience.

👶 Key Highlights:
✔️ Skill-based stations on essential newborn care
✔️ Realistic simulation drills using neonatal mannequins
✔️ Expert guidance by leading pediatricians

The session was led by:
