Director Health Services (EPI) Dr. Abdul Jabbar emphasized that a safe, healthy and disease free life is right of every child and EPI Punjab will ensure no one misses the benefits of vaccines anywhere in the province.
Transcending seamlessly across barriers between public and private sector, he said, the partnership with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) has ushered in a new era of community service in which ultimate beneficiaries are children of Punjab.
Dr. Abdul Jabbar spoke to the heads of partner CSOs in first ever CSO review which was attended by FDI representative Ms. Huma Khawar, TGF representative Dr. Irtaza Chaudhry and Focal Person for the CSO initiative in Punjab Mr. Sajjad Hafeez.
The CSOs have teamed up with EPI Punjab under an innovative initiative by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance for a synergized and synchronized service delivery & demand generation model in selected areas. The CSOs are plugging coverage gaps in urbans slums, marginalized and underserved settings of the province.

A safe vaccine is available which is being used in around 150 countries. This vaccine provides you around 90% protection against the disease and thus cervical cancer. This should be a no-brainer, but it has provided a fertile ground in social media to generate fears and mistrust of people on government and international organisations. This in return generates some income and audiences. Unfortunately, some popular health professionals with big online presence are also not honest, when they are sowing seeds of suspicion while talking about HPV sexual transmission and vaccine and mixing up two issues "innocently".
