The department of Paeds & NNICU under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Shahid iqbal malik Neuro Surgeon HOD celebrated 🥳 their 3rd anniversary with their team of Dr Fayyaz Baloch Paediatrician, Dr Usman Anaesthetist, Dr Naseer , Dr Fatima, Huzaifa and all Paramedical & clinical staff.
CEO-LCH Mian Muhammed Ayub distributed the appreciation letter's to Paeds incharge mrs. Saima their Nursery and Paeds staff.
CEO-LCH was please to know the zero figure of mortality out of 1783 Neuro surgeries carried out in this short span .
The department has to it's credit carrying out critical surgeries of MMC, Shunt, Depressed fracture, Craniostenosis, Encephalocele, Dura plasty- Exogenous, Spine-Intradural Tumour, EVD etc; other than new pop up 🎉 babies 👶neonatal nursery & Paeds medical treatment.

We are pleased to share a heartening update from one of our families at Lahore Care Hospital.
Every premature birth presents a complex challenge, but it also provides an opportunity for clinical excellence and dedicated care to shine. This little one was born at just 29 weeks via Cesarean section, weighing only 0.98 kg. After a courageous stay in our Neonatal Nursery (NNU), we are proud to announce that the baby has reached a healthy weight of 1.5 kg and is ready to go home.
We would like to extend our professional gratitude to the multidisciplinary team that made this recovery possible:
Dr. Memona for her surgical expertise.
Dr. Fayyaz and Dr. Naseer for their specialized neonatal oversight.

​1. فوری ریفر کریں (اسی دن)
​کسی بھی ایک علامت کی صورت میں فوری طور پر آئی سپیشلسٹ سے رجوع کریں:
​بینائی کا اچانک ختم ہو جانا یا تیزی سے کم ہونا
​آنکھوں کے سامنے دھندلاہٹ یا چیزوں کا ٹیڑھا نظر آنا
​روشنی کی چمک (Flashes)، کالے دھبے (Floaters) یا پردے جیسا سایہ نظر آنا (پردہ بصارت کے اکھڑنے کا خدشہ)
​آنکھ کا سرخ ہونا اور ساتھ درد، متلی یا الٹی ہونا (کالا موتیا کی علامات)
​آنکھ پر چوٹ لگنا یا کسی کیمیکل کا گر جانا
​آنکھ کے آپریشن کے بعد درد ہونا یا نظر کا کم ہونا
​2. ہنگامی ریفرل (24 سے 72 گھنٹوں کے اندر)
​ذیابیطس (شوگر): اگر شوگر کے مریض کا گزشتہ 12 ماہ میں آنکھوں کا معائنہ نہ ہوا ہو
​بینائی سے متعلق کوئی بھی شکایت
​شوگر کا کنٹرول میں نہ ہونا یا طویل عرصے سے شوگر کا مرض
​شوگر کی مریضہ کا حاملہ ہونا
​بلڈ پریشر (Hypertension): اگر بلڈ پریشر کنٹرول میں نہ ہو یا 5 سال سے زیادہ عرصہ سے یہ مرض ہو
​سر درد کے ساتھ بینائی میں خرابی محسوس ہونا
​3. معمول کا ریفرل (Routine Referral)
​ٹائپ 2 شوگر: تشخیص ہوتے ہی آنکھوں کا معائنہ کروائیں
​ٹائپ 1 شوگر: تشخیص کے 5 سال بعد معائنہ کروائیں
​بلڈ پریشر: اگر بلڈ پریشر قابو میں ہو، تب بھی ہر 1 سے 2 سال بعد معائنہ کروائیں
​آئی کلینک میں کیا کیا جائے گا؟
​معائنے کے دوران درج ذیل ٹیسٹ کیے جا سکتے ہیں:
​Visual Acuity: دور اور قریب کی نظر کا ٹیسٹ
​Refraction: نظر کے چشمے کا نمبر چیک کرنا
​Anterior Segment Exam: آنکھ کے اگلے حصے اور لینس کا معائنہ
​IOP Measurement: آنکھ کے دباؤ کی پیمائش
​Fundus Exam: آنکھ کے پردے کا تفصیلی معائنہ

OPHTHALMOLOGY REFERRAL QUICK GUIDE

🔴 REFER IMMEDIATELY (SAME DAY)
Any ONE of the following → Urgent Ophthalmology Referral
✔ Sudden loss of vision
✔ Sudden blurring or distortion of vision
✔ Flashes of light / floaters / curtain-like shadow
✔ Painful red eye ± nausea/vomiting
✔ Suspected retinal detachment
✔ Acute glaucoma symptoms
✔ Eye trauma / chemical exposure
✔ Post-operative eye patient with pain or vision loss
🟠 REFER URGENTLY (WITHIN 24–72 HOURS)
Diabetes
Refer if:
Known diabetic with no eye exam in last 12 months
Any visual complaint
Poor glycemic control / long-standing diabetes
Pregnancy with pre-existing diabetes
Suspected diabetic retinopathy
Hypertension
Refer if:
Uncontrolled or long-standing hypertension (>5 years)
Hypertensive urgency/emergency
Visual symptoms (blurred vision, headache with visual disturbance)
Suspected hypertensive retinopathy
🟡 ROUTINE REFERRAL (NON-URGENT)
Diabetes
Type 2 DM → at diagnosis
Type 1 DM → after 5 years of diagnosis
Stable patients → annual screening
Hypertension
Controlled HTN → eye exam every 1–2 years

CQI ( continuous quality improvement 👌) Team Head Prof. Dr. Rakhshanda Toheed of Lahore Care Hospital presented the Team's review report as per standards set by Punjab Healthcare Commission and answered to the queries related to CQI.
Certificates were awarded to Hospital's Code Blue Team on qualifying BLS tests by American Heart Association 💙
