"Follow up and Update on FM Radio" I have discussed the feasibility of establishing a radio station with some technical people. It has been informed that licensing process of FM radio will be very tedious and difficult as PEMRA has imposed various restrictions. moreover, it will take as far as a year to meet requirements. Instead, way is to start a online internet radio, which has been used by many educational institutional like university of central Punjab and university of management and technology. its a cheaper option and licensing requirements are not also stringent. Radio can be houses in small space. only required tools are computer , mixing instruments, radio software. CD player and mics , training is a also difficult. This can be accessed online. Moreover, i did some net research, there are lot of options if you explore you tube and google. You are requested to explore more and come up with suggestions.
Another issue is to how to operate and who will manage. I suggest that " A student council of students will be made which will be constituted by taking 2 members from each class (total 10). One president should be selected directly (from final year preferably). each class should select 2 members within the class. president should not b given to right of vote fr any decision. however, she will preside over all the processes.
THis council will lay down by laws of this station, code of ethics, what to broadcast etc.
Funding for this council can be arranged by membership fee (Rs.100 per month from all students like to be enrolled with council).

rest will be agree by general body comprising of all class students. This lay out of students will in future can organize other societies like dramatic, art, music , excursion etc

looking for the suggestions

I like to share an idea for you people, Why not we start a " FM RADIO " of our own . FM radio for FJ students and alumini. My vision is to have a media source for FJ students for news, views and fun. THis will be broadcasted by FJ students, operated by students and independent from college administration. From morning till some time in night, giving breaking news about college, interviews with teachers . Also public health programs for awareness about diseases, preventive measures, . Fun part is that it will provide information on latest fashion news and trend, where to buy and who to sell. It can be listened in college canteen and in your mobiles. It will purely be STUDENT VOICE. SOngs will be played on demand as well as live calls arrangements. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS IDEA? IF AGREED I CAN SEARCH FOR A TEAM ON THIS PROJECT. WAITING FOR RESPONSE

THis is my last lecture for current class

Is it safe to apply 'surma' or 'kajal' to my newborn's eyes?
Written for BabyCenter India

Last reviewed: February 2012

The BabyCenter Editorial Team answers:
No. Paediatricians recommend that your baby's eyes should be kept free of kajal, surma or kohl.

Using kajal can lead to watery eyes, itchiness, and even allergies. When kajal is washed off during a bath, it can pass down the small and narrow opening between the eyes and the nose. This opening can get blocked, causing infections.

Most kajal and surma available in the market contain high levels of lead that is harmful for your baby. Prolonged application may result in excessive lead storage in the body. This could affect your baby's brain, organs and the formation of marrow in his bones. Lead poisoning can also result in anaemia, low IQ and convulsions. In addition, the kajal you buy may not be blended properly. The ingredients or packaging could be contaminated.

When applying the kajal, dirty fingers or sharp and uneven fingernails can also hurt your baby's eyes. Apart from the immediate pain and the discomfort, your baby might lose his vision. Furthermore, the cornea or transparent layer that covers the centre of the eye is very sensitive. So using lead-free, homemade or 100 per cent natural kajal can be just as unsafe.

Applying kajal to a newborn's eyes is an age old tradition practised in many parts of the country. Well-meaning relatives and friends may advise you to apply surma or kajal to your newborn's eyes to ward off the evil eye or buri nazar. According to an old wives' tale, applying kajal or surma will help your baby's eyes become bright, large and attractive. But there is no evidence to suggest this is true.

If you wish to apply kajal or surma on your baby, why don't you try applying it somewhere other than the eye? Some mums put a small tika on the sole of the foot, behind one of the ears or at the hairline on the forehead. These are safer options.

Kohl, Kajal and Surma Products Containing Lead
This fact sheet provides information about imported kohl, kajal and surma products found to contain high
levels of lead.
What are kohl, kajal and surma?
Kohl, kajal and surma are eye cosmetics imported from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Some of these
products contain lead. Some people using these products have suffered lead poisoning.
Why is lead dangerous?
Lead is a poisonous metal that can damage the brain, nervous system, reproductive system, kidneys and
other parts of the body. Children and pregnant women who use products containing lead are especially at
risk.
How does lead from kohl, kajal or surma get into the body?
When a person uses these products, some of the kohl, kajal or surma can get onto the hands. The user may
then ingest the lead through hand-to-mouth contact. Some lead may also be absorbed through the eyes.
Which types of kohl, kajal and surma contain lead?
There are many varieties and manufacturers of kohl, kajal and surma. Any of them can contain lead.
Recently, the New York City Health Department found the following products to be contaminated:
Hashmi Surma Special, made in Pakistan
Hashmi Kajal, made in Pakistan
Hashmi Kohl Aswad, made in Pakistan
“Pure Kohl From the Waters of ZamZam”
How can I know if my kohl, kajal or surma contains lead?
It is difficult for users of these products to tell the difference between safe and dangerous brands. A
product may contain high levels of lead even if lead is not listed as an ingredient on the label.
What should I do if I have used kohl, kajal or surma?
• Immediately stop using these products.
• Call a physician to request a blood test for lead.
• Keep products away from children.
• Call 311 or 212 POISONS (212-764-7667) for more information about lead in kohl, kajal or
surma. Interpretation services are available.
