Giving toddlers 3 or more cups of milk daily can cause constipation and anemia because:

1. Constipation
• Milk is low in fiber, so it slows bowel movements.
• Too much milk can replace solid foods like fruits and vegetables that help digestion.
• Excess calcium can make stools hard and difficult to pass.

2. Iron-deficiency Anemia
• Cow’s milk is very low in iron.
• Calcium in milk blocks iron absorption from other foods.
• Toddlers who drink too much milk often eat less iron-rich food, leading to low hemoglobin.

Recommended amount:
👉 1–2 cups (240–480 ml) per day is enough for most toddlers.
