Take a deep breath. No, seriously—stop scrolling for a second and actually do it.

Did your shoulders rise toward your ears? If so, you’re likely “chest breathing,” which is basically a low-level “fight or flight” signal to your brain. Most of us are walking around slightly stressed just because of how we inhale.

Breathing correctly isn’t just about oxygen; it’s about resetting your nervous system.

Why the “Belly Breath” is a Game Changer:

* Lowers Cortisol: Deep diaphragmatic breathing tells your brain you’re safe, instantly lowering stress.
* Boosts Energy: Better oxygen exchange means your brain and muscles actually get the fuel they need.

Yoga is the simplest form of exercise. I remember reading this statement long before I ever started practicing. Today, after years of practice and teaching, I was reminded of just how true it is. Despite feeling extremely lazy, a friend encouraged me to do some yoga. She asked, “What’s the simplest pose in yoga?” My teacher’s mind immediately answered, “Sukhasana.” She smiled and said, “Let’s start with that.”

That moment reminded me of yin yoga, often called “lazy yoga.” It feels simple, yet the benefits are profound. I flowed through a sequence starting with Sukhasana, then Vajrasana, reclining Vajrasana, butterfly, cow face, twisted sphinx, pigeon (with a downward dog transition), and finally ending with a supported bridge and supported fish. What began as a simple start unfolded into forty minutes of practice that felt both effortless and deeply nourishing.

By the end, my body was glowing with happiness. And it struck me—this is exactly how life works. At first, something may feel difficult or heavy. But when we approach it with ease, it becomes lighter, smoother, almost natural. The choice is always ours: do we meet life with stress, or do we allow it to be easy.
