*Release of Urology Scopes and Accessories*

It is indeed a very great news for the hospital administration and patients.

The Urology scopes and accessories, which had arrived at AIlama Iqbal International Airport,Lahore and were lying in the custody of Royal Menzies Ras Shed (warehouse) since March 2024, could not be released earlier due to heavy demurrage charges amounting to approximately Rs. 2.2 crore.

*Alhamdulillah, on humanitarian grounds, the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has waived off these demurrage charges. Owing to the kind efforts Ex COO Prof.Faisal Masood sb, Ex-CEO MHL Prof.Ahsan Numan Sb, the tireless efforts of our Respected CEO, Prof. Haroon Hamid Sb, and the valuable support of the Honorable Vice Chancellor Sb Prof.Mahmood Ayyaz sb, the said equipment has now been released and successfully delivered to the Urology Department by P&D department,Mayo Hospital Lahore today.*

***Digital X-ray Film Printing Facility for Admitted Patients of Orthopaedics Unit-II***

A free-of-cost digital X-ray printing facility is now available for all admitted orthopaedic patients of Unit-II in Mayo Hospital.

*Fast, convenient, eco-friendly and accessible — ensuring better care and smoother coordination*. A workflow and infrastructure that enables efficient imaging, printing, and distribution of X-ray films for clinical use.

*Purpose of installation:*

To provide timely, high-quality printed X-ray films for admitted orthopaedic patients to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical procedures.

Rapid availability of images for rounds and surgery.

It will benefit in multiple other ways:

• Immediate access to film in settings where digital review is impractical.

• Improved clinical decision-making.

• Permanent physical record for patient file (if needed).

• Helps in interdisciplinary discussions and surgical decisions.

• Useful for patient transfers where digital access is unavailable.

Free digital X-ray printing in the Orthopaedic ward will enhance the patient care,reduce costs and improve the operational efficiency, all of which will contribute to a better healthcare experience.

I condemn the current incident at the Mayo hospital and I encourage the policy makers to please inquire the matter first before humiliating hardworking, honest, dedicated and compassionate surgeon . When will we learn the process of PEER review in our profession? Punishing an innocent man for others short fall. I request Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to inquire the matter in detail and find out the short falls in the system before penalizing one othe most honest Professor of Pakistan. I would also request CM to ask Dr Faisal’ss patients his work ethics and dedicarion to his work.
