WORLD DIABETES DAY 2024

World Diabetes Day 2024 was celebrated at Farooq Hospital, Westwood Branch, Lahore on 16 November 2024.

It turned out to be a mammoth success and more than 100 patients were screened for HbA1c, lipid profile n uric acid.
All patients received guidance regarding control of their sugar n to prevent complications.
Me n my team saw all these patients n even medications were prescribed on the spot.
More than 50 glucometers were distributed amongst patients.
At the end there was an awareness walk for diabetes and the day ended on a very healthy note.

Alhamdolillah, World Diabetes Day 2023 turned out to be a mammoth success on Saturday 18 November at Farooq Hospital, Westwood Branch, Lahore.

More than 100 patients attended n all had their HbA1c, lipid profile, uric acid, sugar n BMI etc.
Me n my team saw the same number of patients n guided them according to their current status regarding lifestyle modifications n medications.

“WORLD LIPID DAY 2022”

World Lipid Day 2022 was celebrated on 10 May 2022 at Faletti’s Hotel, Lahore. The purpose of the event was to create awareness about the hazardous effects of dyslipidemia in our society.

“MEET THE PRESS”, a press conference was organized for this purpose and eminent professors and experts were invited for this purpose, namely:

• Prof. Javed Akram (Vice Chancellor, UHS)
• Dr. Syed Abbas Raza (Consultant Endocrinologist)
• Prof. Bilal Mohyuddin (Consultant Cardiologist)
• Prof. Mujtaba Hasan Siddiqui (Consultant Endocrinologist)
• Prof. Noman Naseer (Consultant Cardiologist)
• Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq (Consultant Cardiologist)

The press conference was hosted by Dr. Mujtaba Hasan Siddiqui who presented the statistical data of dyslipidemia in the world and in Pakistan, emphasized the importance of lipid control and gave proposals to treat this disease. He also presented the details of NATIONAL LIPID PROGRAM which is a comprehensive training program to create awareness of dyslipidemia in our general practitioners, junior doctors and other healthcare professionals.

The speakers emphasized the importance of lifestyle modification, taking healthy diet, regular exercise, seeking expert help at the earliest and taking regular medications to control this deadly risk.

Prof. Javed Akram announced the formation of NATIONAL LIPID FORUM which will be the first ever forum of its kind in the country.

LIPID RING was also inaugurated by the participating experts in this conference.

At the end, a detailed question-answer session was held in which the experts addressed the queries of the audience and suggested different modalities to control dyslipidemia in our society.
