Management of High flow Arterio-venous malformations (AVM) of head & neck is always a challenging task and requires multi-disciplinary team approach involving Plastic Surgeon, Interventional Radiologist and Anesthetist. A highly complex and recurrent central AVM involving Nose, upper lip, maxilla (getting supply bilaterally from both external and internal carotid system) was successfully managed through Intra-arterial Embolization done by Interventional Radiologist which was followed 24hrs by the Surgical Excision. Department of Plastic Surgery at King Edward Medical University/ Mayo Hospital Lahore under chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Mustehsan Bashir is highly blessed to have all facilities available at Surgical Tower to make this intervention possible. The surgical excision was performed in totally avascular field after complete vascular control was achieved through Embolization and it was made sure that all involved tissues were removed. The nasal reconstruction will be performed later in few months time with cartilage framework and flap.

“Shields of Performance” – Distribution among doctors/staff members/employees/workers.

“Everyone in the organizations is very important. From the sweeper to the security officer; from the messenger to the manager, everyone doing well at his post is a leader. The organization becomes a leading one when it’s made up of people leading in their roles.” ― Israelmore Ayivor

When you put people first and then surround them with processes and disciplines that recognize their efforts, performance will soar. Motivating employees to work at their full potential is the main premise of successful management.

Department of Plastic surgery and Mayo burn center under the Kind Supervision of Prof. Mustahsen Bashir, appreciates and rewards its employees on regular basis. Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts.
