During the round, I focused on teaching my staff and doctors about ventilators, emphasizing the principles of respiratory support, ventilator settings, and the importance of continuous monitoring in critically ill newborns. I explained common ventilation modes, indications for adjustments, and how to recognize early signs of improvement or deterioration. The goal was to enhance their confidence and clinical skills, ensuring safer and more effective management of our patients in the NICU.

Well done Team! Around 1:00 am today received a call from the unit regarding one of our baby admitted from CLF, a P2 case with a bilirubin level of 50 mg/dl on day 12 of life. It was indeed a very challenging situation for the neonatologist to perform an exchange transfusion without umbilical assess but Alhamdulilah, our team made every possible effort and successfully carried out the exchange through a peripheral artery and peripheral vein. Post-exchange, the bilirubin level dropped to 15.3 mg/dl. This truly reflects how our team continues to struggle with dedication and provide state-of-the-art treatment for our newborns, Alhamdulilah, round the clock, 24/7.
