A one-day seminar on “Tawazun Narrative of Population Growth” was successfully organized at Khyber Medical University, Institute of Health Sciences (KMU-IHS) Hazara, on 31st October 2025 in collaboration with the Population Welfare Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The seminar began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by welcoming remarks to the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students.
Mr. Syed Imran Shah, Director Population Welfare Department delivered a comprehensive and informative presentation highlighting the current population growth trends and their impact on social, economic, and health sectors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized the need to maintain a balance (“Tawazun”) between population growth and available resources to achieve sustainable development. Mr. Sohail Imran, Population Welfare Department Mansehra, also shared valuable insights regarding district-level challenges and ongoing initiatives to address population-related issues. Both speakers provided an in-depth understanding of the topic and effectively responded to questions raised by students, making the session interactive and engaging.
The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Rehan Gul Khattak, Director General, Population Welfare Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, appreciated the efforts of KMU-IHS Hazara for organizing an informative and timely seminar. He shared his views on the importance of population balance for socio-economic stability and praised the interest shown by students and faculty in this crucial public welfare subject.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Israr Hussain, Lecturer KMU-IHS Hazara, who expressed his gratitude to the chief guest, guest speakers, organizers, faculty, and students for their active participation and contribution to the success of the seminar. The session served as an important platform for awareness, discussion, and reflection on the importance of balanced population growth, aligning with the vision of promoting responsible and sustainable community development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
