3rd Trimester Obstetric Ultrasound (Fetal Well-Being Scan)
🧾 Patient History (For Awareness):
A 29-year-old pregnant female at 32 weeks of gestation, presented for routine 3rd trimester scan.
Patient complaint:
• Reduced fetal movements since last 2 days
• Mild lower abdominal discomfort
• Previous delivery was normal vaginal delivery
Patient was referred to assess fetal growth and well-being.
🖥️ **Ultrasound Findings:**
• Single live intrauterine fetus seen
• Fetal heart activity present and regular
• Gestational age corresponds to 32 weeks
• Adequate amniotic fluid volume noted
• Placenta anterior, grade II, away from os
• Estimated fetal weight appropriate for gestational age
📖 **Why 3rd Trimester Ultrasound is Important:**
Third trimester ultrasound helps assess fetal growth, position, amniotic fluid, placenta, and overall fetal well-being.
It plays a key role in identifying growth restriction and planning safe delivery.
