MoU Signed Between Pakistan Medical Association PMA Mirpur and Kashmir Orphans Relief Trust (KORT)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) District Mirpur and the Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust (KORT) to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of healthcare and community welfare.
The purpose of this MoU is to promote public health, enhance collaboration in welfare initiatives, and ensure the provision of quality medical services to deserving individuals.
President PMA Mirpur DrEjaz Ahmed stated that “this partnership will play a vital role in improving healthcare standards and opening new avenues for community welfare.”
Chairman KORT, Choudhary Mohammed Akhtar , emphasized that “collaboration with PMA will further strengthen our humanitarian mission, enabling us to serve more people in need.”
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Amir Aziz (Medical Superintendent, Divisional Headquarters Teaching Hospital Mirpur) and Prof. Dr. Faisal Bashir (Principal, MBBS Medical College) as special guests.
General Secretary PMA and Director Administration MBBS Medical College, Dr Ijaz Mehmood highlighted Chairman KORT Ch. Akhtar’s remarkable community services and expressed sincere gratitude for his visit to the hospital and for signing the MoU with PMA.
The event was also attended by Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Tariq Masood (Head of Medicine Department), Prof. Dr. Zardad (Head of Surgery Department), Dr. Abdul Majeed (Head of Radiology Department), Dr. Rizwan Bostan (Senior Child Specialist), Dr. Maria Zulfiqar (Deputy Medical Superintendent), Dr. Mobashra Ejaz (Assistant Professor, Gynaecology), Dr. Raza (Assistant Professor, Cardiology), Dr. Rizwana (Surgeon), Dr. Thaira (Child Specialist), Dr. Maryum (Dental Surgeon), Mr. Mobashar (Ward Superintendent), Ch. Sajid (HEF), Dr. Khalid Shareef (President PMSA), along with young doctors and hospital administrative staff.
Following the ceremony, Chairman KORT Ch. Akhtar, along with MS Dr. Amir Aziz and the PMA team, visited the Emergency and Paediatric Departments. On this occasion, KORT provided ten fully electric hospital beds for the emergency department and expressed keen interest in supporting the upgradation of the operation theatre.
During the emergency visit, additional medical superdient Dr awais Zhaid and Dr. Adnan Murgoob (Finance Secretary, PMA Mirpur) highlighted the shortage of operation theatre facilities in the emergency department. In response, Chairman KORT Ch. Akhtar showed strong interest in extending and upgrading the emergency operation theatre to enhance surgical care services.
Chairman KORT also appreciated Medical Superintendent Dr. Amir Aziz for his commendable efforts in maintaining cleanliness and improving emergency and hospital facilities.
The event concluded with a shared commitment to continue collaborative efforts for better healthcare delivery and community welfare in the region.
