*Mole / Wart Removal* is a frequently performed procedure in our clinic, although harmless in our skin types, patients often choose treatment for cosmetic concerns.
How moles are removed ?
Moles can be removed in a single visit under local or topical anesthesia.
There are 3 main types of procedures :
1. Shave Excision: Your dermatologist uses a thin, razor-like tool to carefully slice away the mole. A device with a tiny electrode at the end may be used to perform electrosurgical feathering. Stitches are not needed after a shave excision because the feathering helps in minimizing the appearance of the excision by blending the edges of the wound with the surrounding skin.
2. Surgical Excision: This procedure is more of a tradition procedure and deeper than a shave excision.
3. Plasma pen:
This procedure is done on laser len i.e known as plasma pen, it is painless procedure.
4. Electro-Cautery
Your dermatologist cuts out the entire mole till the deep layers of the skin , and stitches the incision closed.
Never try to remove a mole at home by yourself. The risk of bad scarring and infection are very high.
