LYMPHOCYTES
(OVERVIEW)
Lymphocytes are a type of white blood cell that play an important role in the immune system. There are three main types of lymphocytes: B cells, T cells, and natural killer (NK) cells. B cells produce antibodies to help fight off infection, T cells recognize and kill infected cells, and NK cells kill cancer cells and virus-infected cells. All three types of lymphocytes are crucial for a healthy immune system. They work together to protect the body from disease.
