Inauguration of Capacity Building Training for Doctors of DHQ Hospitals Held at PGMI
Peshawar: The inaugural ceremony of the Capacity Building Training Program for Medical Officers from District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was held today at the Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Hayatabad.
Project Director of the Revamping of Non-Teaching DHQ Hospitals, Dr. Shehzad Faisal, graced the event along with CEO PGMI Dr. Noor Wazir, ADG Admin Dr. Aneesa Afridi, ADG HR Dr. Arif, CEO SHPI Dr. Riaz Tanoli, and Director SHPI Dr. Ijaz. The distinguished guests appreciated the efforts of Dr. Shehzad Faisal and highlighted the significance of this initiative, terming it an important and transformative step being introduced for the first time in the province. They expressed confidence that such training programs will enhance the professional capabilities of doctors, leading to improved healthcare services at the district level.
In his welcome address, Dr. Shehzad Faisal elaborated on the objectives of the project and emphasized the need for strengthening secondary healthcare facilities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He stated that the key objective of the Revamping Project is to renovate and upgrade District Headquarters Hospitals in line with modern healthcare standards. He noted that this marks the beginning of the first batch, and similar training sessions will continue in the coming weeks.
A total of 34 Medical Officers from 12 DHQ hospitals participated in this first session.
