*Orientation Session for newly inducted postgraduate residents, fellows and House officers*
The Deanery successfully conducted an orientation session for newly inducted postgraduate residents, fellows and House officers on Friday, January 29, 2026. The session aimed to familiarize the new residents, fellows and HOs with the fundamental aspects of residency training and to give broad guidelines regarding the hospital rules and regulations.
The session featured lectures from esteemed seniors including:
1. Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Mahmood Noor, Dean/CEO who discussed the importance of long cases as a fundamental pillar of residency training.
2. Prof. Dr. Abid jameel, chairman BOG ayub teaching hospital, who emphasized the significance of prescription writing and professionalism/ethics in medical practice.
3. Dr. Riaz Ahmed Khan Afridi, Associate Dean PGME, gave details presentation regarding hospital rules, policies and regulations. Brief overview given regarding residency program, dress code, duty hours, rotations, curriculum and many more.
4. Dr. Ali Talha khalil, Associate Dean research, who addressed research matters and encouraged residents to engage in scholarly activities.
5. Dr. Khalid Farooq, Associate Dean UGME, who spoke about undergraduate affairs in details.
The session was hosted by Dr. Sadaf and facilitated by Mr. Muhammad Junaid, Secretary to Associate Dean PGME.
The orientation session provided a valuable opportunity for postgraduate residents, fellows and House officers to interact with all the deanery staff, clarify doubts, and gain insights into the expectations and requirements of residency training.
