RCT (root canal treatment)

RCT is procedure to treat the any pain or infection in tooth. when tooth decay progresses deeper into nerve of tooth it starts paining, at this time tooth can be saved by doing RCT and pain is permanently relieved. By doing RCT tooth can function like normal tooth for several more years. It is mandatory to give crown (cover/cap) on tooth after rct for better protection.

FAQ:

1. Is it painful procedure?
- No. its usually under local anesthesia so patient doesnt feel any pain during the treatment.

2. How many visits does it require?
- It usually takes 1 to 3 visits depending upon the infection present in tooth. some tooth can be treated in single sitting also.

3. Is cover compulsory after RCT?
- Yes. most of the cases it is mandatory to get crown done after RCT. it gives protection to tooth from fracture in future. As after RCT tooth becomes brittle so its compulsory to give a crown.

4. Can it be done in kids too?
- Yes, it can be done for any patient even in milk tooth of kids starting at age of 3 years. In milk tooth its called pulpectomy.
