A group of students from Pak International Medical College, led by Dr. Zarak, visited the Regional Blood Center (RBC) Peshawar today as part of their academic exposure and learning experience. The visit included an informative briefing by Manager RBC Dr. Adnan Reyat, Dr. Sundas (Hematologist), Dr. Ijaz Yousafzai (Marketing Supervisor) and Dr. Iqbal Muhammad (Senior Technical Officer), who highlighted the core functions, quality standards, and vital public health role of the Regional Blood Center.
The students were taken on a guided tour of key departments, including the Blood Donation Section, Component Processing Unit, Blood Storage Area, and Quality Control (QC) Laboratory. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of voluntary blood donation, safe transfusion practices, quality assurance systems, and the critical role of RBC in saving lives across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Overall, the visit proved to be highly educational and inspiring for the future healthcare professionals, strengthening their awareness of transfusion medicine and community health services.
