The Embassy of Japan, in collaboration with Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, organised an exhibition of Japanese Calendars 2026 at Gandhara University, Peshawar, on January 29 and 30.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the President of Pak Japan Cultural Association, KP. Mrs Roeeda Kabir, President PJCA (KP), Present at the occasion were Prof Ejaz Hassan Khan, Vice Chancellor, Gandhara University, Mr Ghulam Noorani Sethi, Prof Ahmad Hassan Mashwani, Dr Tariq Khan, Dr Ismail Qamar, Secretary General PJCA, along with faculty, staff and students of Gandhara University. Japanese Calendars Exhibition is an annual feature of the cultural activities organized by the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan. This year, 77 calendars were put on display in the exhibition with the cooperation of the Japan Calendars Association, Tokyo. These calendars showed Japans traditional and contemporary arts, sports, automobiles, nature, cultural heritage and architecture. The exhibition not only gives a picture of the socio- cultural development of Japan spread over centuries, but also exhibits the aesthetic features of Japanese printing technology.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Mrs Kabir expressed great pleasure at seeing the variety of Japanese calendars which were put on display in this exhibition, representing the beauty as well as the true life image of Japan. She hoped that the Pakistan-Japan friendship would flourish more and more in all walks of life.
