📌Case Study: Diabetes Insipidus is a rare disorder characterized by excessive thirst (polydipsia) and large volumes of dilute urine (polyuria) due to the inability of the kidneys to concentrate urine. It occurs either from deficient secretion of antidiuretic hormone (ADH) — central DI, or renal resistance to ADH — nephrogenic DI. Unlike diabetes mellitus, blood glucose levels are normal. If untreated, DI can lead to dehydration and electrolyte imbalances. Management depends on the type and may include desmopressin, hydration, and addressing underlying causes.
