Imagine you spent your entire life worshipping Allah, fasting, praying, giving loads of charity, even did Hajj and it all went to waste. Why?
Because you simply could not keep your mouth shut about others!

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:

"Whosoever gives me a guarantee to safeguard what is between his jaws and what is between his legs, I shall guarantee him Jannah."
[Al-Bukhari].

Also, 'Do not backbite muslims, and do not search for their faults, for if anyone searches for their faults, Allaāh will search for his faults. And if Allah searches for the fault of anyone, He humilities him (even if he hides) in his house.'

"And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother dead? you would detest it." (49:12)
