Homeopathy is based on the 'principle of similars', whereby substances that cause symptoms in healthy individuals are used to stimulate healing in patients who have similar symptoms when ill.

Homeopathy is becoming increasingly popular in the world and constitutes an important factor of public health systems. For example, in the US the proportion of patients obtaining homeopathic care has quadrupled from 1991 to 1997. In the UK it was estimated that 2% had visited a homeopathic practitioner in the last 12 months and that annual expenditures for homeopathy reached ₤34.04 million (out-of-pocket ₤30.74 million, NHS ₤3.3 million). In Germany, the country in which homeopathy originated, a survey demonstrated that approximately 10% of men and 20% of women in the general population used homeopathic medicines during the previous year. Here the General Medical Council grants an official additional certification in homeopathy upon successful completion of a three-year-long training programme. This is held by approximately 4,500 physicians.

Homeopathy, as a healing method, is based on the therapeutic law ΄΄Similia Similibus Curentur΄΄. The physician relies on the wholeness of symptoms revealed during the entire evolution of the infection, and prescribes remedial treatment, which has been proven to heal similar conditions. This is a great advantage in this timing while Covid-19 disease is in rapid development, because the diagnosis of the indicated remedial treatment product is based on individual symptoms or on the totality of symptoms, and not in the pathology.

In homeopathy, we take into consideration the response of the organism to the causative factor (the totality of the symptoms) in order to start the treatment. Therefore, the intervention can be immediate and very helpful for the patient.

The totality of symptoms for each patient become the guiding signs for finding the indicated remedy. In that way we can prescribe remedial treatment product with the first manifestation of symptoms, preventing the full development of the pathology. Let us not forget that the basic principle is that there are not diseases but patients, and that every patient is a special case. Homeopathic remedial treatment medicinal products which are used as remedies come from nature (of plant, animal, mineral nosode origin etc.), naturally manufactured (trituration, dilution, succussion) and with an infinite storage time. They present reverse self-similarity properties with almost all known diseases.

Dr. Hahnemann Aphorism-1

The physician's high and only mission is to restore the sick to health, to cure, as it is termed.1
1 His mission is not, however, to construct so-called systems, by interweaving empty speculations and hypotheses concerning the internal essential nature of the vital processes and the mode in which diseases originate in the interior of the organism, (whereon so many physicians have hitherto ambitiously wasted their talents and their time); nor is it to attempt to give countless explanations regarding the phenomena in diseases and their proximate cause (which must ever remain concealed), wrapped in unintelligible words and an inflated abstract mode of expression, which should sound very learned in order to astonish the ignorant - whilst sick humanity sighs in vain for aid. Of such learned reveries (to which the name of theoretic medicine is given, and for which special professorships are instituted) we have had quite enough, and it is now high time that all who call themselves physicians should at length cease to deceive suffering mankind with mere talk, and begin now, instead, for once to act, that is, really to help and to cure.

Homeopathy as a scientific system of therapeutics is based on identifying the individual as an entity and selecting the similimum according to his characteristics. In homeopathy each individual is considered as a distinct entity with certain characteristics of his own and based on these characteristics we choose an identical medicinal picture. Sometimes, we come through remedies whish seem to have similar profile but on closer observation we recognize the subtle difference which gives both a distinct identity. Thus we see that Individualisation is one of the basic tenets of Homeopathy. The Mosby's Dictionary of Complementary and Alternative Medicine defines Individualisation as, "The process of tailoring remedies or treatments to cure a set of symptoms in an individual instead of basing treatment on the common features of the disease is known as individualisation". Part of the effectiveness of homeopathy is attributed to the fact that the treatment is individualized to each patient; remedies are given to treat the individual as a whole and not to his sick parts.

Individualisation is efficacious in Homeopathy for:
o Individualising the individual characteristics.
o Individualising the Medicinal Symptoms.
o Individualising exact Similimum by matching the patient picture with medicinal picture.
o Prescribing Right Potency, Dosage and Eliciting the follow up record according to individual patient
