SEHER Newsletter – March 2026 Highlights

We are proud to share key achievements under our Advice & Legal Aid Center (ALAC–UNHCR) Project in Balochistan for the period 1st Mar – 31st Mar 2026.

During this month, SEHER:

📞 Responded to 2,014 helpline calls
🚶 Facilitated 146 walk-in clients
⚖️ Provided 167 legal aid interventions
🚓 Conducted 244 field visits (police stations, courts, check posts & holding camps)
📻 Delivered 02 radio programs for awareness and outreach

Our team also played a vital role during peak deportation periods, ensuring timely legal assistance and protection for vulnerable individuals.

Success Highlight:
Through effective mediation on 17 March 2026, two Afghan refugee families detained after a dispute in Mari Abad were successfully released the same day. This intervention highlights SEHER’s commitment to peaceful conflict resolution and safeguarding human rights.

At SEHER, we remain committed to empowering marginalized communities, protecting the rights of refugees and asylum seekers, and promoting access to justice across Balochistan.

SEHER – Society for Empowering Human Resource is pleased to share the key achievements of the Protection Case Management (PCM–IOM) Project for January 2026.

During the reporting period, our team made significant progress in strengthening coordination mechanisms and enhancing community engagement across Balochistan.

🔹 20 Coordination Meetings conducted with Community Volunteers
🔹 16 Awareness Raising Sessions organized
🔹 706 Participants reached (359 male & 347 female)
🔹 38 General Protection Cases addressed (including education, health & legal assistance)

Through dedicated efforts, SEHER continues to support vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring access to protection services, legal support, and essential assistance.

Together, we remain committed to empowering marginalized communities and promoting a violence-free, inclusive society.

📢 PLAS Project – January 2026 Monthly Update

SEHER – Society for Empowering Human Resource continues its commitment to providing legal aid and protection services to vulnerable Afghan nationals in Balochistan under the PLAS project.

🔹 145 individuals (124 men & 21 women) received legal advice and guidance.
🔹 68 court visits and 16 police station visits were conducted to ensure timely legal support.
🔹 7 coordination meetings were held with protection stakeholders to strengthen response mechanisms.
🔹 4 detention visits were carried out to monitor cases and provide direct assistance.

✨ Case Highlight:
Through immediate intervention, dialogue, and persistent negotiation, SEHER successfully secured the safe release of eight Afghan nationals, ensuring their protection and family reunification.

Despite challenging circumstances, our team remains dedicated to safeguarding rights, promoting justice, and protecting vulnerable communities.

📞 Legal & GBV Helplines (Quetta, Chaman & Pishin) are active to provide assistance and support.

Together, we continue working toward dignity, justice, and protection for all.

We are proud to share key achievements under our Advice & Legal Aid Center (ALAC–UNHCR) Project in Balochistan for the period 1st Jan – 31st Jan 2026.

With the financial support of IOM, SEHER has successfully secured the release of 5 undocumented minors following the state's initiation of the Illegal Foreigner Repatriation Plan (IFRP) and the One Document Regime. To protect the rights of vulnerable individuals, SEHER filed a constitutional petition in the High Court of Balochistan.
