🧠 Assessment of Ulnar Nerve Mobility & Sensitivity
The Ulnar Nerve Neurodynamic Test is used to assess nerve mobility, irritability, and possible entrapment along the ulnar nerve pathway.
🔹 How to Perform the Test
1️⃣ Patient lies supine in a relaxed position
2️⃣ Therapist depresses the shoulder girdle
3️⃣ Shoulder abduction to around 90–110°
4️⃣ External rotation of shoulder
5️⃣ Elbow flexion
6️⃣ Wrist and finger extension
7️⃣ Forearm pronation
8️⃣ Cervical side flexion
➡️ Neck moved away or toward the tested side to differentiate symptoms
🔹 Positive Test Findings
✅ Reproduction of patient’s familiar symptoms
✅ Tingling or numbness along ulnar nerve distribution
(4th & 5th fingers, medial forearm)
✅ Symptoms change with cervical movement
🔹 Clinical Significance
✔ Ulnar nerve entrapment
✔ Cubital tunnel syndrome
✔ Cervical radiculopathy (C8–T1)
✔ Neural tension or reduced neural mobility
🔹 Important Clinical Tips
⚠ Always compare both sides
⚠ Do not force end range
⚠ Test should reproduce symptoms, not pain alone
🎓 Educational Reminder
Neurodynamic tests help assess nerve mobility, not just muscle length — interpret findings with patient history and clinical reasoning.

✔ Grinding or clicking sensation
✔ Restricted or uncomfortable movement
🔹 Indicates Possible:
• Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI)
• Labral tear
• Hip osteoarthritis
• Articular cartilage lesions
