Today, students of Ghulam Muhammad Mahar Medical College (GMMMC) Sukkur staged a long march from the college cafeteria to the Sukkur Press Club, culminating in a protest rally. The demonstration was held to voice their strong opposition to the construction of new canals on the Indus River system. The students, concerned about the environmental and socio-economic implications of such projects, demanded that the government prioritize sustainable and equitable management of the Indus River's resources. The protest was peaceful, with participants holding placards and banners highlighting their concerns, as they urged policymakers to reconsider their plans and engage in meaningful dialogue with stakeholders.
