Autism Spectrum Disorders Welfare Trust Certified by Pakistan Center for Philanthropy. AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER WELFARE TRUST is funded by Mahvash & Jahangir Siddiqui Foundation, and the Future Trust.

It was registered as ASD Welfare Trust in 2016. Vision:

Awareness and support for people with ASD

Objectives:

--To create a critical mass of teachers, parents, care-givers and other resource persons in the field of ASD

--To develop core groups in cities, towns and villages who can guide families in accessing services for diagnosis, assessment and training

--To sensitize government agencies and service providers through awareness campaigns and training programmes

--To involve civil society, students, volunteers and community based organizations for extending support and assistance to persons with ASD

--To create networks with like-minded NGOs, institutions and social media groups

--To tap national and international donor agencies and business houses to contribute to the effort by providing funding, subject experts, technology support, education and training materials, capacity building and other institutional and infrastructural requirements

Strategy:

--To organize seminars and conferences to create awareness about ASD in Pakistan

--To arrange training workshops for teachers of special and mainstream schools

--To arrange training workshops for parents, families and care-givers

--To guide parents, families, care-givers and teachers in management techniques

--To facilitate meetings between parents and professionals in the field

--To create awareness about ASD through electronic, print and social media

--To sensitize and train law-enforcing agencies and other service delivery organizations for assisting persons with ASD

--To tap resources of knowledge, research, technology and expertise available in other countries for the benefit of persons with ASD in Pakistan

💁 ASD Welfare Trust proudly participated in a day dedicated to raising awareness, promoting inclusion, and supporting the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities across Pakistan. 💙✨

🤝 We joined the Inclusive Talent Exhibition, organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, in honor of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

✨The event celebrated abilities, diversity, and inclusion , bringing together communities, organizations, and families committed to building a more accessible and equitable future for all. 🌍🤝

💁 ASDWT Lahore Participates in Special Olympics Pakistan Consultative Meeting on Disability Inclusion in Health Systems !

ASDWT Lahore proudly participated in the Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) Consultative Meeting on the Key Findings of the Report on Disability Inclusion in Health Systems.🤝

💁The insightful session was led by :
🪶 Ms. Rubab Askari – Regional Manager, SOP
🪶 Dr. Aisha Saher – Research Team Lead, RC Initiative, SOP

During the meeting, Mr. Musa Eleazar, Program Lead for Unified Champion Schools, provided an overview of Special Olympics Pakistan and the Rosemary Collaboratory Initiative, which is working to tackle inequalities faced by individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in health systems globally.🌎

Representatives from the Departments of Social Welfare, Health, NGOs, and schools supporting individuals with IDD attended the consultative session.

Dr. Aisha Sehar presented an in-depth analysis of the Key Findings for System-Level Inclusion of Persons with IDD in Pakistan’s Health System. Participants shared valuable suggestions on strengthening awareness and capacity-building among healthcare professionals.

Ms. Rukhsana Shah, CEO ASDWT, emphasized the need for updated legislation and highlighted the importance of acquiring accurate data through a fresh census or nationwide survey of Persons with Disabilities to ensure effective policymaking and appropriate budget allocation.

It was a highly productive and engaging discussion reinforcing the call for inclusive and accessible health systems where individuals with IDD are not only supported but also given a voice in shaping the policies that impact their lives.💡

Together, we move towards a Pakistan where inclusion is a reality, not just a vision. 🇵🇰 ✊

Team ASDWT Karachi was invited by Mr. Abdul Qadir Khatti of The Renaissance School, Badin to conduct an informative awareness session on neurodevelopmental disorders.

🧠 Session Highlights:

Dr. Salma Khalil (COO, ASDWT) provided an insightful overview of Neurodevelopmental Disorders, focusing on early signs, intervention, and educational support.

Ms. Sadia Hassan (Associate Clinical Psychologist) delivered an in-depth session on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Mr. Attaullah Choudhry (Associate Clinical Psychologist) presented on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Mr. Moazzaz Ali (Associate Clinical Psychologist) discussed Specific Learning Disorders (SLDs) and classroom strategies.

Mr. Jhamandas Sahab, Project Director, ASDWT Karachi, joined the team and contributed to the successful coordination of the session.

ASD Welfare Trust – Karachi conducted a free screening camp offering informal assessments and tailored recommendations for parents and caregivers. This initiative was organized to support underprivileged children and families from Badin and surrounding areas.

Our dedicated team provided psychological screenings, early identification support, and guidance on management and therapy options for neurodiverse individuals.

💁 ASDWT Lahore successfully conducted an insightful training session at Durre-e-Rehmat Foundation, attended by 34 participants, including students, teachers, psychologists, and school staff.

🌍👧 Universal Children’s Day Walk 2025 – Frere Hall, Karachi !

💁 On Sunday, Konpal organized its annual Universal Children’s Day Awareness Walk 2025 at Frere Hall Park, Karachi , a beautiful tradition they have proudly continued for the last 20 years.

More than 200 children, along with their teachers, parents, Konpal office bearers, civil society members, NGOs, professional bodies, Dow graduates, and the general public, came together to celebrate children, raise awareness, and promote their rights and well-being.

🎶 The walk began with uplifting performances by children and students.
🤲 It concluded with a heartfelt Dua for the health, safety, and protection of children in Pakistan and across the world.

🇵🇰 The event ended on a patriotic note as everyone joined in singing the National Anthem.
✊ We are proud to share that Dr. Salma Khalil, COO of ASD Welfare Trust Karachi, also participated in this impactful event, standing in solidarity for child rights, safety, and inclusion. 💙
