Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the most common cause of mortality among adults worldwide. In the prognostic risk stratification of these patients, crucial determinants are lumen stenosis, total volume and composition of the plaque. Considering that most of the myocardial infarctions are due to non-obstructive plaques or are associated with high-risk features, plaque composition can serve as an independent predictor of cardiac outcomes.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) prevention does not only mean effective fight against the existing and well-recognized cardiovascular risk factors, but also against their complications, including micro- and macrovascular complications. Only then we might comprehensively reduce CVD burden and cardiovascular and cause-specific morbidity and mortality.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a progressive decline in memory and cognitive abilities. The monocyte/HDL-C ratio (MHR) has emerged as a new marker of inflammation in recent years. The purpose of this research was to examine MHR alterations in AD and to assess its feasibility as a straightforward and easily computable biomarker for evaluating the severity of the disease.
