1️⃣Fatigue - both the physical and mental one can be harmful
Lack of sleep, stress, or long hours spent in front of the computer can reduce the eye’s accommodative ability, which in turn may affect the accuracy of the examination (particularly in the case of hyperopia and astigmatism).

2️⃣Prolonged close-range work
Constant focusing on close objects may lead to a so-called accommodative spasm. In this state, the eye muscles do not relax properly, which can distort the results and suggest short-sightedness.

3️⃣Continuous use of contact lenses before the examination
Wearing lenses for many hours alters the shape of the cornea, making computerised measurements unreliable. This is why, before being assessed for laser vision correction, patients are advised to stop wearing soft lenses at least one week prior to the appointment (or three to four weeks in the case of toric lenses).

4️⃣Insufficient eye lubrication and dry eyes
Tear film disturbances and dry eye syndrome can cause fluctuations in visual sharpness, making it more difficult to determine the exact corrective power. This is especially common in people who spend long hours in front of a screen.

5️⃣General health - infections, medications, allergies
Fever, colds, allergies, or certain medications (such as antihistamines or psychotropics) may affect eye muscle performance, intraocular pressure, or pupil reactions, thereby reducing the reliability of the examination.

We recommend that any cosmetic procedures, including eyebrow or eyelash henna, be done at least 7 days prior to laser vision correction. This is due to the possibility of an allergic reaction. 1️⃣The procedure takes only a few minutes and the laser itself is often active for less than 30 seconds per eye.

2️⃣Quick return to daily routine - depending on the method used, you can return to office work as soon as 2-3 days after the procedure.

Sleep is not only essential for physical and mental recovery - it's also a crucial time for maintaining healthy eyes. Why is getting enough rest so important?

😴 Surface regeneration of the eye
During sleep, when the eyes are closed, the tear film doesn't evaporate as quickly as it does during the day. This helps keep the cornea better hydrated and nourished.

😴 Reduced eye muscle tension
Throughout the day, our vision is constantly in use - reading, working at a computer, focusing at varying distances. Sleep allows the eye muscles responsible for accommodation to relax, reducing strain and fatigue.

😴 Eye redness and puffiness prevention
Lack of sleep causes blood vessels to dilate, leading to red and swollen eyes. It also contributes to the appearance of under-eye bags and dark circles.

😴 Enhanced healing process
In many eye conditions, the body heals more effectively during sleep. For patients recovering from procedures – including laser vision correction – sleep plays an important role in the healing process.

💧 Regardless of the laser vision correction method applied, it is important to avoid contact with water in both artificial (e.g. swimming pools, fountains) and natural (e.g. lakes, seas, rivers) bodies of water for at least 30 days after the procedure.

💧 This precaution is necessary because potentially irritating substances in the water, such as chlorine and microorganisms, can cause irritation, infections, or inflammation. These complications may slow the healing process and increase the risk of postoperative complications.

💧 Importantly, if you plan to dive to greater depths, a longer break of 2-3 months is recommended. This is especially true for individuals who had high refractive errors corrected; such patients should consult their ophthalmic surgeon before resuming diving. Similar caution applies to activities such as surfing, wakeboarding, or rowing.
