Hiding shouldn’t be part of childhood.
No child should ever feel fear or shame for being deaf.
Not then, not now.
Every deaf child deserves safety.
Deserves pride.
Deserves a world that doesn’t make them hide their hearing devices, their voice, their signing hands, or their journey.
When a child lowers their head in embarrassment…
When they try to “pass as hearing”
When they pull their hair over their processor or tuck their hearing aids behind a hoodie…
When they nod because they don’t want to ask again…
Children shouldn’t have to apologise for needing clarity or pretend they heard something when they didn’t.
That isn’t their fault.
That’s the world failing them.
Let’s build something better ...
a world where deaf children walk into classrooms with confidence,
raise their hands without hesitation,
and grow up knowing there is nothing wrong with the way they hear, speak, sign, or communicate.
Every child deserves a world where their devices aren’t questioned,
their voice isn’t judged,
their silence isn’t misunderstood,
and their identity isn’t something to shrink for.
Let deaf children grow up unafraid.
Deaf isn’t something to fear.
Deaf isn’t something to hide.
Deaf is something you can live, love, and stand tall in.
Not then, not now.
Not ever.
