Truth is there will always be some form of chaos out there. We can spin our wheels trying to control or manage what is happening out there.
However, we need to have tools to return home to the inner source of clarity, ease, calmness, or peace. If we can calm the internal response to the chaos around us, then we can find clarity. Like today, I felt myself drop into a deep calm as I walked outside at the end of the day to watch the sunset over this fresh coat of snow, a reminder of my own pure, shining light. From there, we can respond with wisdom (not control) to the spinning world. Without losing a connection to inner balance and equanimity.
The definition of equanimity is “to stand in the middle of all that”
We are not rejecting the world, in fact, the stronger our tether to our inner light, the more we can enter and engage with the chaos without losing our center.
