"Ethosomes as alternative delivery systems of active substances in cosmetics"

Ethosomes are a specific type of phospholipid vesicles (liposomes) distinguished by the presence of ethanol in their composition. Thanks to the synergy of ethyl alcohol and lipids, they gain a unique ability to pe*****te the stratum corneum.
The article aimed to characterize ethosomes as an innovative delivery system, focusing on their structure and mechanism of action. Both the benefits and limitations of their use were presented, as well as prospects for further development.
Ethosomes are considered as one of the most promising solutions in the field of transdermal delivery of active substances. Their potential is recognized in pharmacology and cosmetology, as they effectively transport active ingredients such as antioxidants and azelaic acid

"The potential use of borage and baobab oils in the skin care of oncology patients. A pilot study"

Borage and baobab seed oils are active ingredients with great potential for caring for particularly sensitive and problematic skin. Thanks to these properties, they are increasingly used in products intended for people undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The study aimed to assess how the use of pure, unrefined cold-pressed oils from borage and baobab affects selected skin parameters. The research was conducted with a view to their potential use in cosmetics for the skin care of oncology patients.
The results suggest that both oils can have a beneficial effect on skin hydration, oiliness, and tension, and effectively reduce the rate of transepidermal water loss. At the same time, an increase in the erythema index was observed, which may be caused by the direct application of oils to the skin without prior dilution. The conclusions provide a basis for further analysis of the use of these oils in preparations for oncology patients.

“The utility of high-frequency ultrasound in assessing complications after aesthetic medicine procedures performed in the tear trough. Case report”

The tear trough is a particularly challenging anatomical area whose appearance greatly affects the aesthetics of the face. Rejuvenating procedures performed in this area are growing in popularity, and with their number, the risk of complications is also increasing. Accurate diagnosis of changes in the tear trough is a clinical challenge. High-frequency ultrasound is an imaging method that can be helpful in this regard.
The study aimed to demonstrate the utility of highfrequency ultrasonography in diagnosing complications in the tear trough area in a woman who had been given a polynucleotide-based biostimulator.
Based on the case described, it can be concluded that high-frequency ultrasonography is a useful method in the diagnosis of complications after procedures in the tear trough area. It allows for the differentiation of focal lesions and their measurement. Incorporating this method into everyday aesthetic medicine practice increases patient safety and the effectiveness of interventions

"The gut-skin axis. The impact of selected intestinal dysfunctions on skin condition"

The skin is a specialized organ whose health largely depends on internal factors, including the condition of the intestines. Thanks to its metabolic, immune, and digestive functions, this section of the digestive system affects the entire body.
This study aimed to present skin disorders associated with digestive system dysfunctions. The most common ones are acne vulgaris, rosacea, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, keratinization disorders, and abnormal water exchange in the skin.
The intestines, which perform key metabolic, immune, and digestive functions, have a huge impact on the condition and appearance of the skin. The strong connection between the gut-skin-brain axis opens up a new perspective on the interdependencies between these systems.
