“The effect of blue light on the scalp and hair follicles”

Solar radiation and blue light, which is high-energy visible light, pe*****te deep into the scalp, causing oxidative stress, inflammation, hair growth cycle disorders, and also cell damage. This leads to hair loss, dry skin, microbiome dysbiosis, and photoaging. The article aimed to analyze the potential biological mechanisms associated with the effects of blue light on the scalp and hair follicles. In particular, the study focused on oxidative stress, morphological changes in hair follicle cells, and the consequences of long-term exposure, which may affect regeneration processes and disrupt the natural hair growth cycle. Protective strategies, including antioxidants, filters, and limiting exposure to light, are of key importance.

„Clinical evaluation of the effect of non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid injections on skin parameters with signs of aging. Case study”

One of the most popular methods of reducing the signs of facial aging are injection treatments using non-crosslinked hyaluronic acid. The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a therapy using injections of two high molecular weight hyaluronic acid preparations and to analyze their influence on the thickness and properties of skin with signs of aging in four women aged 35-46. The therapy improved skin hydration, elasticity, and firmness, while supporting its natural regenerative processes. This was confirmed by a sustained increase in the thickness and density of the dermis. The effects obtained were longlasting and visible for at least one month after the end of the treatment series.

"Evaluation of the efficacy of lactic acid and mandelic acid in perifollicular keratosis. Case study"

Perifollicular keratosis is a fairly common hyperkeratotic skin disease. Skin changes in the form of papules and small nodules are accompanied by roughness, dryness, and an uneven surface.
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatments based on lactic and mandelic acids, which, due to their properties, appear to be effective solutions in the therapy of perifollicular keratosis.
After a series of treatments, a decrease in the number of papules on both arms, a significant reduction in redness, and improved skin hydration were observed. The study confirmed the effectiveness of both acids in treating perifollicular keratosis.

“The use of aloe vera in dermatology and cosmetology”

Aloe vera is a plant with a wide range of applications, valuable in both medicine and cosmetology. It supports skin regeneration and accelerates wound healing. It also has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antioxidant properties. In addition, it has moisturizing and laxative features, supports immunity, and exhibits anticancer properties.
Based on the available literature, the study aimed to present aloe vera as a valuable raw material used, among others, in the production of medicines, dietary supplements, and dermocosmetics. The article describes the properties, chemical composition and practical applications of aloe vera.
An analysis of the scientific literature confirmed the presence of numerous biologically active substances in the pulp of this plant and indicated the need for further research into its full potential.

📖 Dla redakcji Aesthetic Cosmetology and Medicine początek roku akademickiego to zawsze moment wyjątkowy. To właśnie uczelnie kształcą przyszłych ekspertów, badaczy i praktyków, którzy wnoszą do kosmetologii estetycznej innowacje, etykę i naukową rzetelność.
💡 Wszystkim studentom życzymy odwagi w stawianiu pierwszych kroków, a całemu środowisku akademickiemu, pasji, otwartości i sukcesów. Niech towarzyszy nam radosne Gaudeamus, bo każda inauguracja to nie tylko tradycja, ale także obietnica przyszłości.

"The effectiveness of cavitation liposuction and radiofrequency in reducing excess abdominal fat. A pilot study"

Overweight and obesity are health disorders that can lead to serious non-communicable diseases. Non-invasive treatments that support fat reduction are increasingly used in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.
The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a combination therapy involving ultrasonic lipocavitation and radiofrequency treatments in patients with excess
abdominal fat.
The treatments proved to be ineffective when not accompanied by lifestyle changes. Further studies are recommended in which participants will additionally follow a low-calorie diet and engage in regular physical activity.
