Initial presentation of APA2024. Complicated diagnosis but effective treatment is available. Interesting comments from the presenter, mentioning how are mental health professionals taught about personality disorders. Traditionally taught as fixed and mainly unchanging. As she stated get the answer right in “The Boards questions” the academic side, but in Clinical Practice Reality, that is Wrong. Providing opportunities for patients to learn about themselves will promote the change needed.

1 de 36 niños es la prevalencia de Autismo. Recordemos también que estos niños se convierten en adultos. Los estudios y recursos son más accesibles en la niñez, pero se pierde este apoyo en gran parte en su adultez. Imaginó que cuando se menciona el Autismo, pensaran en algún niño/a, recordemos a todos los pacientes, Adultos y Niños, así como los familiares que les apoyan. Buen día. 💙

Long time not posting! Tools of the trade. Psychiatry doesn’t mean forgetting the basics. Fundamental information!
Your evaluation starts when I see you. How you stand from your chair, how you walk-gait, what are you doing with your arms and hands, what are you wearing, any particular aroma(odor). Your posture, the way you sit, your eye contact, the rhythm and tone of your voice and all the other mannerisms and non verbal cues, etcétera!
Telemedicine is secondary but also useful.
Remember to Sleep, Eat Better and Move(Exercise). Un Saludo a todos!
