Jose L. Cruz Melendez, MD, is a seasoned pediatrician with 38 years of remarkably diverse experience in his challenging specialty. He sees patients at his own private practice located in Ponce, Puerto Rico, as well as in hospital setting at Hospital Episcopal San Lucas and Hospital Metropolitano Dr. Pila in Ponce, Puerto Rico. As a pediatrician, he has dedicated training and unique experience in the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. Dr. Cruz-Melendez is also a Clinical Professor at Ponce School of Medicine, now Ponce Health Sciences University, which has honored him with a Best Teacher Award. As a result of his outstanding performance in the field of pediatrics, The International Association of HealthCare Professionals (IAHCP) has selected Jose L. Jose L. Cruz Melendez, MD, studied at Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara and received his medical degree in 1977. He also completed an internship at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, followed by a residency at the Charleston Area Medical Center, and one-year anesthesiology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Melendez maintains active memberships with the American Medical Association, the Sociedad Puertorriqueña de Pediatria, and the Asociación Médica de Puerto Rico. He feels that his success is attributable to his dedication, discipline, achievements, love of his profession and keeping updated in pediatric education. He is also gentle and listens to his patients. When not practicing, he dedicates to playing violin, singing, playing the guitar, and practicing martial arts. For more information about Jose L.
