It was loud. Urgent.
Like I was about to do something dangerous or wrong.

I froze.

That moment didn’t just stop me, it stayed in me.
It anchored fear into my body.
And it planted a belief I carried for weeks / months without realizing it…

I was about to paddle for a wave.
My body said yes. My instinct said go.

And just as I committed, two people screamed at me:
“No! Don’t do it!”

That moment didn’t just shake me.
It stayed in me.

I didn’t just get scared.

I made it mean something:
“I can’t trust my instincts.”
“It’s not safe to go all in.”
“I might mess it up.”

That’s how limiting beliefs are born.

And when a shock like that hits the nervous system? It also creates an emotional anchor.

Every time I felt that same urge to GO, that same fear would rise again.
Not because I couldn’t surf, but because my body remembered.

I’ve heard many stories like this.
It’s frighteningly easy to take on deep blocks without even realizing it.

But hear me on this:
This can be changed.

Healing this meant going back to that moment.
Feeling it. Releasing it.
And then choosing a new truth.

Rewrite it.

You don’t have to let fear write the story of your power.

Your body remembers fear.
But it can also learn freedom.

What’s one moment you froze and still remember?
That memory might be holding more than you think.

Struggles, fears & mental blocks

Many surfers experience unwarranted fears while facing the mighty ocean, hindering their progress and enjoyment.

Surfers of all levels experience these fears and mental blocks. Whether you’re a beginner catching your first wave or an experienced surfer facing formidable swells, the psychological aspect of fear can be as intense as the physical challenges posed by the ocean.

These fears, often deeply rooted in the subconscious, prevent individuals from fully embracing the waves and reaching their true potential.

Fear is paradoxically an essential aspect of our human experience. Embedded in the very fabric of our survival instincts, fear serves as a vigilant guardian, tirelessly working to keep us safe.

It is a primordial response deeply rooted in our evolutionary history. However, in the context of surfing, fear can sometimes become a formidable adversary, standing between the surfer and the exhilaration of riding the waves.

Fear continues to be a valuable ally. It compels us to exercise caution, consider consequences, and approach situations with a heightened awareness.

However, caution and fear are quite different. Fear has the potential to paralyze our thinking abilities, while caution makes us think.

Everyone has different fears stemming from various roots. What one person doesn’t find scary, another might find quite daunting. We all carry our own baggage and experiences.

What do you fear the most?

Hi, welcome!

I'm Brigith, with a profound love for surfing and a proficiency in hypnosis and regression therapy.

Affectionately dubbed "fearless" by friends, I saw an intriguing connection between the vast ocean and the unexplored depths of the subconscious mind.

My surfing journey kicked off in 2016 in Bali. Initially just for fun, but it quickly transformed into a serious passion during extensive travels across Asia.

Embracing a nomadic lifestyle, I found lots of waves and home in the Philippines.

With a lockdown-induced return to Europe, Portugal swiftly became my second, if not primary, home.

Here, I challenged myself with the rugged waves, honing my surf skills beyond the familiar Asian shores.

Portugal became a challenging yet rewarding classroom.

I faced some significant challenges and fears, from unexpected encounters with rocks to navigating unexpectedly large sets of waves.

Each experience became a valuable lesson, shaping me into a more resilient surfer.
