📣Today is a special day for I3Bs! We are proud to share that our Vice-President and Principal Researcher of 3B's Research Group has received the Scientific Merit Award 2026 ("Prémio de Mérito Científico 2026") from the University of Minho on the scope of its 52nd Anniversary celebration.

This is a truly important recognition from his pears and Institution and we could not be more proud of this achievement!

👩‍🏫 ABOUT BRINGING SCHOOL TO THE LABS🧑‍🔬

3B's Research Group received several students from secondary grade (12º) of Escola Francisco de Holanda, Guimarães, to experience some hands on science, supervised by some of our senior researchers!
We had the chance, in two different days with different students, not only to show them the facilities and all the specific labs and generally get to know what we do, but also to allow them to experience what it is to be a researcher in the lab and perform some experiments and simple step scientific procedures and preparations.
Thank you for your visit and interest and hope to see some of you in the future!
Thank you also to all the researchers and MT staff (especially Ana Guerra, Luisa Rodrigues and Diana Costa), involved in preparing these science sessions for students!

Last Friday, the 3B's Research Group/I3Bs Institute held its Christmas GET TOGETHER and Dinner! It was truly special to gather colleagues and friends and their respective families for a moment of sharing and genuine joy.

It was an opportunity to get together, connect beyond daily routines and celebrate the people who, through their dedication and talent, contribute to our collective success. It also allowed our members proudly showed their place of work to their families and it was a happy afternoon where the labs had more laughs and smiles, surprise faces, showing science can be fun!

These moments are truly essential to build an united team, resilient to face future challenges, step by step!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all 3B's/I3Bs members' friends and families! 🎄

DC04 | Advanced Natural-based biomaterials for viscosupplementation: The project will focus on the development of novel printable hydrogels for viscosupplementation, based on natural-based polymers aimed at promoting anti-inflammatory responses and other therapeutic effects to support cell regeneration.

DC05 | Silk fibroin and ionic-doped calcium phosphates composite bioinks for OC scaffolds: The project will focus on the development of patient-specific composite scaffolds for the treatment of osteochondral defects type III/IV.
