I painted this piece, “Forgotten Elders” in the fall when I started hearing about the Fairy Creek Blockade and the important efforts to defend the last intact old growth watershed on southern Vancouver Island, which is currently being logged. Last week I had the honour and privilege of standing amongst ancient these trees, and it was truly profound. We took a few banners of this painting and some large versions of my “Respect Your Elders“ bumper sticker to gift to the and front line team.

All eyes on Fairy Creek. There is still time to save these rare old growth trees for future generations ❤️

If you can, go there in person to lend support and supplies to the front lines of the forest protectors and experience these trees while they are still alive. Otherwise follow and share , donate to , call Premier and tell him that these trees are and that sustainable forestry is the only way forward.

I just completed this huge oil painting (1.5m X 1.5m) it's called: Creation of a Star. Painting this work was like standing in a portal between the world of magic when the veil is thin, tuning into the magic that exists all around us when we expand our consciousness and see with new eyes. The colours were painted to match the design and feel of the room. Thankyou Susan Goold Disney for being so patient as this work unfolded...and thankyou Charlottie Rosanna for this last minute awesome photoshoot the morning we delivered.

This was an incredible project, it took over 8 weeks to complete, and the input of the whole family. I wood grained each plank into rough pine separately, literally the building was painted plank by plank, later..Trompe L’œil 3d shading effects were added, then the giant stamps to complete the look of a giant animal crate...and last,but not least...two coats of hard core varnish to make it last!

The building is slowly turning into a giant animal crate. Our turtle friends are happy to have the scaffolding out of their pond very soon as we move onto side number 3 today.

We are turning this new entrance building into a giant animal crate. After weeks of delays and preparation, these are the pictures that document our first wall. With friendly turtles making good company we are just about to complete this side. One down, and two more to go....

My favorite part of big painting a big mandala is the feeling of almost physically standing inside the sacred geometry patterns. I have just completed this piece for Lulushanti Yoga Studio,in Albufeira. The focal point being the magical Lotus flower.Magical....because this has been a spiritual symbol in Eastern religions for thousands of years. The Lotus flower grows from the bottom of streams and muddy ponds to rise above water and bloom. It symbolically represents being fully grounded in earth yet aspiring towards the divine and encourages us all to aspire towards this happy state aswell.
