My children's yoga classes are engaging!😉
When you introduce yoga to children, it is different from the studio classes we'd attend as adults. Children are little people, constantly developing and learning. Their interests, priorities and capacities (mentally, emotionally and physically) are different from ours. Thus what we find interesting might be boring for them.
Yoga offers so many benefits to us, so If we want them to be interested in it from a young age, then we need to find ways to catch and sustain their attention during a class. So when I say, my children's yoga classes are fun and engaging, I simply mean they are catered to children but it doesn't take out the important elements such as physical poses (asanas) and breathing (pranayama) you'd usually get from regular yoga classes. The Yoga Bananas Technique teaches them these elements in ways that they can understand. With continuous practice and as they mature, hopefully this will morph into the yoga style, we adults know. Then with choice and dedication, they can nurture this practice, in their own time. Namaste.💚🙏🏼
P.S. There are still spaces for the public classes at Oficina das Pulgas Brincoteca on Tuesdays at 17-17:30 starting 1st October. It's in the same building as the Kangaroo Health Club in Cascais. Booking is essential. https://goingyogi.com Oficina Das Pulgas Brincoteca
