Our first Skin-Gut connection event yesterday was a hit, so we're taking it on the road in Portugal!

🚗 Next up Setubal and Ericeria, probably online as well - watch this space.

🪷 The skin is our largest organ and is a sense organ, so it's like a window to what's going

🪟 We are what we can digest and this shows in our skin - it's like a window to what's going on inside.

Over time, if we ignore constant bloating, constipation, migraines, allergies or joint pain - the skin will erupt.

Often we need to start by calming our nervous system - so our digestive system can kick into gear.

🤗 Massaging your skin with warm sesame oil is an immediate calming cue to the stress hormones, as well as hydrating and detoxifying.

🌈 Eating (and being able to digest) the rainbow - in other words, local seasonal produce - provides the variety of plant-based foods your gut needs for a diverse microbiome.

⏰️ Syncing with the natural circadian rhythms of the day is the best way to plan your days and ensure metabolic health.

🤮 I spent much of the first days of 2026 asleep after my dinner came up instead of going down - my gut was in a state of dysbiosis.

Thankfully, the choices we make about what we eat can have a rapid and massive impact on our microbiome.

Within 24 hours you can change your microbiome by including gut-friendly foods, and rapid changes are facilitated by rapid microbial turnover.

🦠As always with gut dysbiosis, it’s a case of: ‘W**d, seed and feed’

--> W**d out the bad bacteria via organs of elimination. Seed by introducing live good bacteria. Feed the good bacteria with fibre-rich food.

❓️What should be my top priority according to Ayurveda and what should be my top priority according to modern gut science…?

1️⃣ according to Ayurveda = boost digestive fire (eat only when hungry)

1️⃣ according to gut science = replace lost fluids (& minerals)

Protein doesn't necessarily mean meat.
Focus first on fibre.
Second, see how much protein YOU need TODAY.
Third, try plant sources for protein - every other day - at least. (My favourite is quinoa).

Women's health experts agree more research is needed on the safety of hormone therapy.

A gender health gap of sorts, one that all women should be aware of.

Women's hormones are often blamed for all kinds of things, yet if we can put the stigmas aside we have a way to tap into our bodies via nature's fluctuating flow.

For me, (early) menopause has been a chance to do just that. I now understand what my body, mind and spirit need more than ever before.

After reading an article in Time Magazine recently quoting a bunch of female research scientists saying menopause is the worst thing that happens for women's health, saying their brains refused to work and their immune systems failed, I had to provide an alternate perspective.

Have a read here and consider if you can take a different perspective on your health.
