You don't hear "Great Reset" much anymore. That was a 2020, SATURN/PLUTO conjunction-in-Capricorn thing, and looking back, the social order we once followed was indeed about to be pulverised to smithereens.
That conjunction had not occurred in Saturn's own sign since the early sixteenth century, when the printing press placed disruptive power in ordinary hands, challenged church and crown, loosened patriarchal authority, and hauled Europe out of its medieval stupor. The great reset of that era (c. 1518) cracked the whole world open to alternative dimensions of being.
The difference lies in what would follow. In the 1500s, Saturn's subsequent meeting with Neptune occurred in Pisces, again, as now, 5-6 years later. Borders relaxed. Sea routes expanded. Exploration, trade, science, and forbidden modes of thinking managed to bypass the old gates. The grip of ecclesiastical terror weakened. That conjunction loosened reality and widened human possibility beyond wildest dreams.
This time, Saturn's patriarchal sequence runs hotter and more volatile. After meeting Pluto in late Capricorn, Saturn meets Neptune at 0º Aries, not the oceanic surrender of Pisces but the brutal determination to reimagine Self. And it builds through February, reaching exactitude around the 20th, while the duality intensifies in every which way imaginable: economic, physical, racial, spiritual. Right now, the struggle between idealistic and materialistic impulses is reaching breaking point. Distrust has become omnipresent. Dissatisfaction is endemic and ingrained. The pronounced split in human character—the lower nature vs the higher—will drive many of us toward renunciation, rigid self-denial, or psychological collapse. Neurosis, depression, psychic overload manifest wherever inner authority has already eroded.
I'm not trying to be dramatic here. Surely you're witnessing this. In retrospect, not too long from now, when we look back, the era we just passed through will look like a medieval dark age all of its own.
Humanity is not just experiencing the end of a dream. We are approaching its violent regeneration. And Aries, the most short-sighted of signs, demands we become selfish in the sacred sense: present, boundaried, ready to defend our sovereignty against mandated principles that serve only the appetites of others. Readiness for sacrifice, yes, but sacrifice willingly made, not forcefully extracted. Self-restraint and foresight, yes, but first and foremost in extreme service to our own centre, our spirit, our moment, our creative spark.
Will this be a time for war? Not necessarily, but if there is no other way, yes. When demons within you or beyond demand you surrender everything so they can feast on your rightful claim to exist, your act of defence is not aggression. It is self-preservation. Perhaps this is the older meaning of holy war: the outright refusal to relinquish what gives life its continuity and weight.
