Our Down Syndrome Cork branch is running a series of webinars for Primary School Staff supporting the communication needs of a child with Down syndrome this July.
There are 4 webinars in the series which will cover the following topics:
▪ An introduction to working with a child with Down syndrome including an overview of communication development.
▪ Receptive Language.
▪ Expressive Language & Speech.
▪ AAC including using a Total Communication approach.
These webinars are suitable for class teachers, special education teachers (SETs), SNA's and others who work with children with Down syndrome and will be delivered by two Senior Speech and Language Therapists.
The dates and times for the series of webinars are:
▪ Tuesday the 12th of July at 10 am
▪ Wednesday the 13th of July at 10 am
▪ Wednesday the 13th of July at 12 pm
▪ Thursday the 14th of July at 10 am
Each webinar is 1 hour with time for questions at the end. Participants will receive a certificate of completion and resources.
Registration is through Eventbrite and links to the live sessions will be sent to participants closer to the time. Sessions will be hosted via zoom and recordings will be sent when all webinars have concluded and will be available for one month following this.
The cost of the webinar series is €50
