Meet Elena Menci - the founder of Haven Community ✨️
Allow me to introduce myself, in case we haven't crossed paths yet. I'm originally from Slovakia, and after spending over a decade in the Middle East, I made the move to the Algarve. I arrived here with little more than a bit of research and a strong intuition, and within six months, I began building my Haven community. Despite never having visited Portugal or knowing anyone here, I started by doing what I love—teaching yoga, meditation, mobility, and stretching. Within the first year, I opened my first studio, assembled a team of teachers, and welcomed regular clients who have now become dear friends. 🥰 you know who you are.
Less than a year later, I met my partner (& his little Zoe 🐶 - my best yoga assistant now) who has been an incredible support in both my business journey and settling into life here. Together, we welcomed our beautiful boy, Lenny. Settling into new country, becoming a mother and launching a business all at the same time has been very challenging, but my passion for bringing people together and creating meaningful experiences keeps me going.
My vision is to create a space where everyone feels welcome—a "second home" where you can connect, share experiences, practice, and grow. If I had to sum up what drives me, it's making a difference in someone's life, whether through physical improvement, mental clarity, or simply offering emotional support 🙏
