but aren’t totally sure what Lemontree actually is 😅💁🏽‍♀️

(We‘re not just a funny surfing page 😉)

So here it is.

A small surfhouse in Sagres.
Built for (and by) people who want surf, nature, good food and space to slow down. 🌞

Not a hotel.
Not a surf factory…

Just a place that feels like home 🍋🫶🏽

We have been a bit slow with our events but we are back! Inspired by our lovliest guests once again we are putting on something special for all of you 🥰

Meet Tess — our guest… and guest-teacher 😉! A classically trained Pilates instructor from London, Tess blends classical precision with contemporary creativity. She believes Pilates is for everybody and all bodies, making her classes inclusive, empowering and fun.

So is there anything better than starting your Saturday on a beautiful cork mat with some dynamic movement followed by a gorgeous lemontree breakfast and a mimosa? 🍊

People always ask us how we decided to just leave our home-countries and move to Portugal and buy a house.

It never felt like it was a decision we really had to think about. It scared us - absolutely, but we never doubted it. It just felt so right and exciting. Switzerland and Italy are fine countries but I didn’t see a happy future there. To grind the 9 to 5 in a job that I didn’t burn for was always an excruciating experience. 😖

During the renovations we cried many times from exhaustion, stress and fear of not making it. Fear of not being enough. Fear of disappointing our families and fear of embarrassment of a failed venture.

But we were already too deep into it. We had to find a way and keep going. We had 80€ left between the both of us and just focused everything we had on one single room so that we could start renting it.

Through luck and friends of friends we got a tenant for 2 weeks who paid us a little something while he staid in the only finished room. The house was still basically a construction site. But with the money that came in we were able to continue to the second room and also get someone in there. After that we were (barely) ready to open the doors to our first official guests.
We had major imposter syndrome and felt like we’re children playing house but these people actually paid proper money to stay with us. 🫠 But they loved it and gave us the confidence to continue (and gave us a 10/10 review on booking 🤩)!

Slowly we started working on getting a website and now we get the most wonderful people in our house that we wish could just stay forever. 🥹🫶🏽💛

We’re so forever grateful that we got the chance to do this and to call this our home. It changed everything and I don’t know what the alternative would have been for our lives to be honest 🥹💫

All you need is a pen and paper! 📝

We love our usual surfing and yoga gig but sometimes we need to add a little brain stimulation into that mix 😅

Luckily our neighbor is a talented author, writer, teacher and editor. She has kindly offered to share her gift with us for an evening 💫

This little workshop will be a creative writing class designed to help you break rules, explore your potential and write from a freer and deeper place. Nathalie will help us expand our imagination and show us hat we’re capable of. 🌞 (also no one will be forced to read out loud anything they’ve created 😉)

You don’t need any experience or talent, just curiosity 🤗 You will benefit even if you would only like to write your own instagram captions instead if chat gpt or if you journal occasionally. 🌱

Almost 1 month ago we said goodbye to this wonderful group of 10 women! 🥹🫶🏽

Even though the whole Iberian Peninsula lost Electricity for 24hours it was an absolute success 🥳
We love to see the spirit of community forming in our little oasis while the women come together for meals, yoga, laughter and relaxing. 😊

Mini-Job Offer 🫶

Here at Lemontree Eco Surfhouse 🍋
we are looking for someone to help us out a little with photos, videos and our social media!

We would need someone to join us in lovely Sagres, Portugal 🇵🇹 and support us with the creation of videos, pictures of social media content 💫

It would be much appreciated if this person would have some previous experience in photography ,video editing, youtube & social media (or a few of those) 💪

Working hours:
- 3 hours a day / 5 days a week
(We are super flexible with the schedule, you’ll be really free to organize your working hours as you want)

Period:
- from NOW (the sooner the better) till the 1st of July with possible extension till end of July

What we can offer:
- Accommodation + all surfhouse facilities

*since we have always done this ourselves in the past, we already have the necessary equipment and in case you want to use it we are happy to provide that for you 💪

Sagres Community don’t miss out on this 💫

Our last event of the season is gonna happen on the 12th of September 🙌🏼

🐙 SHAPING WORKSHOP

We will start at 15:30 with a 2 hour workshop where you can learn the basics of wood shaping with while making your own handplane or little hanger (keychain, necklace etc.) 🌞

🚨 There are only 12 spots available for the workshop and sign-up via dm is required 🤗
To make your own handplane it will cost 35€ and the hanger 15€ (time and materials included) 💫

🐗 OPEN ECO BOARD PRESENTATION &
DRINKS HAPPY HOUR*

From 17:30-18:30 we will be hosting a little open presentation by who will introduce us to his more sustainable way of shaping and show some of his handmade boards. 🪴
!!Doors will be closed between 17:30 and 18:30 to not disturb the presentation!!

*and during that time the bar will be surfing up drinks for happy hour 🧜🏽‍♀️

🦄 PARTEEEY

After the presentation let’s kick off the last party of the season with pizza by , beer and sodas by , some fun drinks and tunes by 🎵
