Quinta da Luz has an unique presence where visitors often stay for longer than planned due to its calm, peaceful energy of well being.
✩✩✩Our beautiful home is a renovated granite house with its original forester watch tower. Three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with extra large beds, one room with two single beds and one with a single. Three bedrooms and a separate bathroom for the two single bedded rooms are on the ground floor along a private corridor.
✩✩✩Enjoy wandering in the serenity of our garden, sitting by its ponds and taking in the breathtaking scenery. Watch the night sky, you can even see the Milky Way!
✩✩✩Our space is idyllic for creative and artistic people as well as those seeking tranquillity and inspiration. We also operate a retreat centre for those seeking to recharge their batteries, to escape from city life and also for those who are on their spiritual journey. There is a garden room used for yoga, meditation and workshops, or perhaps even your sketching and photography! Our visitors are very welcome to use this space freely.
✩✩✩Various modalities such as energy and soul level shamanic transformation are the focus of our retreats. Our grounds include a medicine wheel, fire pit and stone circle- Used during our retreats and by visitors, There is also a house guitar should you feel the need to strum or drum.
✩✩✩We welcome guests on arrival. We take pleasure in settling them into our home and showing them around the Quinta. If you have any dietary requirements please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.
✩✩✩We are vegetarians ourselves eating whenever possible our own fruit, vegetables and nuts. Our retreats are full board.
✩✩✩You will find the Quinta 500 mts down a rural track and is car and tractor accessible. If you wish to swim there are various river beaches nearby and a lake in the mountain about 45 minutes drive away. The nearest beach is Aveiro which is about 1.5 hours drive.
✩✩✩We have a Quinta cat who spends most of her time outside, especially in summer - the bedrooms are off limit to her! If you have cat allergies please mention them to us. We request that no dogs are invited.
✩✩✩Guest Access
You will be able to access the living room where we enjoy breakfast when not taken outside. In the tower we have our library where guests may sit and read books during their stay. There is a seating area leading to three of the guest bedrooms and kitchen, used more in winter when the wood burner is lit! The granite walls keep an equable temperature through the year, so allowing all to just sit and enjoy the ever changing views of Serra da Estrela. Whether you wish to be inside or sit on the terrace listening to the evening noises of the crickets and frogs, watching the twinkling stars, or find one of the 17 benches in the garden where you can just be a peace with Nature.

We will be on site during your stay, to help guide you around the hectare (2.5 acres) of the Quinta and point out local sites and places of interest. We operate a very non intrusive and empathetic home, respecting the privacy of all guests.

Thank you so much for welcoming me into your beautiful quinta. These two weeks went by so quickly, but they were filled with such lovely and warm moments that I will surely miss when I am back in Finland. I really enjoyed helping out in the garden, watering the plants and trees, raking pine needles and grass – I hope you will remember me in wintertime!...

✩✩✩In this creative space Gregory has written various books. Two have been published - The story of how severe back pain led him to this choice and awakening it brought is in his chapter “CEO to Shaman” in the #1 international best-selling Transforming Your Life II.
It was during his first year in Portugal Gregory reflected on listening to his body´s messages such as the lower back pain, which led him to write the #1 best-selling The Seven Secrets to Living in Harmony.
