An ARTeZen week at Relaxscape is the perfect winter escape! Come and make your own mosaic, guided by well-known local mosaic artist Lucy Jackson Crocodilo amarelo - mosaicos e artesanatos, or if you prefer to sketch and paint watercolours, the skilled Silvi De Jaeger Artist is on hand to help you learn or improve your techniques. Enjoy an experience of life in a typical rural Portuguese village for a week, in beautiful countryside of central Portugal 🙂 Places still available for November, December or January.

Today I spent all day picking and pruning this one tree! 😅🙌 It’s in a really tricky spot, on a steep slope, slippery from the fallen leaves, on the edge of a curve in the road, and right next to a huge cactus 🤣 Most years it gets ignored and I just pick a few of the olives within reach but this year it was so bushy and overgrown (and full of fat juicy olives 😁) that I felt it needed some good attention. I had to prune it right down to be able to get to the olives safely, so hopefully now it will grow back more compact. But what was amazing was that there was a huge old stump there where it had been previously cut down (probably because of its tricky location!), but it has regenerated and just keeps growing and offering fruit. Today it gave me around 70kg of olives! I love olive trees! 💚🤗🙌

Hoje recomecei a minha conversa anual com as oliveiras ☺️💚 Esta manhã estivemos a refletir sobre a maneira que a natureza tece se em cada parte da vida, até que nós não mais podemos ver as costuras. Antes de começar a apanhar a primeira azeitona, agradecei a oliveira pela abundância que ela dá todos os anos - e não só para mim: as azeitonas e azeite vão para ajudar nós a ter uma alimentação saudável, e também a fazer azeite estamos a apoiar o lagar, a economia local. A árvore f**a mais saudável com a limpeza e podar os ramos. As ovelhas alimentam-se com os ramos que eu corto. Os pássaros e bichos alimentam-se com o que sobra. Até a terra aproveita para composto as folhas e azeitonas que caiem.

No nível de saúde e cura natural sem precisar de farmacêutica podemos aproveitar as folhas para chá (para baixar a tensão por exemplo) e o extracto de folhas da oliveira também tem propriedades muito vantajosas. E mais, podemos divertir-nos a utilizar as folhas para fazer arte e t-shirts 😁 Obrigada lindas oliveiras, obrigada à natureza 🙌💚

So beautiful! 😍 Look at those colours and texture! Makes me want to draw and paint them! 😁🎨✍️ If you are inspired by nature too and would like to spend a tranquil week relaxing in nature in rural Central Portugal, sketching and painting watercolours guided by the talented Silvi De Jaeger Artist then our ARTeZen weeks are for you!
