👏 Parabéns aos autores do trabalho vencedor do Bial Award in Biomedicine 2025, promovido pela Fundação Bial : “Gut microbiome influences efficacy of PD-1–based immunotherapy against epithelial tumors”.

👏Congratulations to the authors of the winning work of the Bial Award in Biomedicine 2025, promoted by the Fundação Bial : “Gut microbiome influences efficacy of PD-1–based immunotherapy against epithelial tumors”.
The study, published in Science in January 2018, was led by the research duo Laurence Zitvogel and Guido Kroemer, globally recognised French academics, and involved a team of 46 other international scientists.
The winning work reveals that a healthy gut microbiota can enhance the efficacy of immunotherapy used to treat cancer, while antibiotics may impair its effect by reducing intestinal microbiota diversity.
